Award for Bristol Hospitality Group

The Bristol-based hospitality company Pony Group has secured a one-off award at the prestigious Cateys ceremony in London.

Founded by siblings Josn and Holly Eggieton, the business was celebrated for its outstanding commitment to the campaign called This is Hospitality, an initiative run by The Caterer magazine to spotlight excellence across the British service industry.

Industry voters selected the group after being inspired by its ongoing community outreach work. A key factor in their win is the company’s community interest branch, which operates a dedicated Pony Bus that travels to local schools and regional events to deliver hands-on food education. The editorial team at the ceremony formally described the local business owners as incredibly worthy winners of the special prize.

Alongside running popular regional dining venues like Root, Salt and Malt, and The Pony, the group maintains a strong focus on community impact. The founders actively support Team Canteen, a local collaborative network that unites the hospitality sector to combat food insecurity throughout Bristol.

The wider London event also presented several major honors to prominent industry figures. David Moore received the Lifetime Achievement Award, MaryEllen McTague accepted the Special Award, and Ross Sneddon was named Pastry Chef of the Year.
Organizers noted that the gathering successfully showcased the absolute best of what the modern British hospitality field can deliver.
