Carbase Secures New Portbury Docks Hub

According to Alex Jones, chief operating officer at Carbase, the new location is ideal for the next phase of the company’s expansion.

The move lets the retailer merge multiple legacy sites into a single, high-quality preparation and logistics hub. This change will ultimately improve vehicle preparation speed, quality control, and overall operational flow.

The deal involves a 20-year lease for a newly refurbished 60,000 square foot industrial unit. Situated right next to junction 19 of the M5 motorway and the Royal Portbury Docks, the facility sits roughly six miles northwest of Bristol city centre. The strategic location is ideal for vehicle transport, and its close proximity to the Portway Park and Ride will also make it easier for the business to attract and retain staff

Alder King Property Consultants represented Carbase during the negotiations. The site’s owner, Mileway, recently completed a modernisation programme to enhance the facility’s overall capabilities. Andrew Jones, co-head of real estate at Mileway, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the automotive retailer, noting that the deal highlights a healthy, ongoing demand for well-located industrial properties in the region.

As a leading regional car and van retailer, Carbase expects this long-term investment to significantly boost its vehicle throughput. Operating from a unified, modern base will allow them to handle larger volumes of stock and deliver a more efficient service to their customers across the South West.
