Plans outline a mix of housing options from one to five bedrooms, including 35% designated as affordable homes.
The project will feature extensive green space, play areas for children, and electric vehicle charging points. Access to the new neighbourhood will be created directly from Camp Road, linking the homes to local amenities like Heyford Park School, a gymnasium, squash courts, and a local shop, which are all within walking distance.
The green light has been given on appeal to build up to 230 homes on a 29-acre site near Bicester. Located on the edge of Heyford Park, the development occupies land right next to the former RAF Upper Heyford airbase. Promoted by Richborough Estates and Lone Star Land, the project is designed as a sustainable extension of the village.
According to the developers, the masterplan is landscape led and focuses heavily on preserving existing green infrastructure and natural habitats.
Marc Wilson, regional director at Richborough Estates, and Andy Wilkins, managing director of Lone Star Land, both expressed their satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting that the development will deliver much needed housing while integrating seamlessly with the surrounding countryside.
This new housing development represents a significant addition to Heyford Park, which has been growing steadily since the military airfield closed in 1994.
The wider area has slowly transformed with new commercial, industrial, and residential spaces, and this latest residential approval aims to support that ongoing community growth.
